新浪科技讯北京时间6月3日早间消息，据外国媒体报道，Twitter任命帕特里克·皮切特（Patrick Pichette）为独立董事长，接替奥米德·柯德斯塔尼（Omid Kordestani），他于本周一卸任。

According to foreign media reports, twitter appointed Patrick Pichette as its independent chairman to replace Omid kordestani, who stepped down on Monday.

年初时，激进投资者Elliott Management Corp.购入Twitter部分股份，它向Twitter CEO杰克·多西（Jack Dorsey）发起挑战，甚至想换掉多西。消息人士称，在Elliott与Twitter的讨论中，Elliott提出一系列方案，试图改善公司治理，设立独立董事长就是其中一步棋。皮切特将会成为Twitter首位独立董事长。

Elliott还想重组Twitter董事会，每年所有董事都可以重新选择。Elliott做的一切都是改变Twitter，巩固领导力，甚至改变多西。去年，Twitter在战略上犯了错误，股价大幅下跌。Elliott希望公司提高运营效率，增强监管能力，使其更加健康。
